UPDATE (October 6, 2022): Due to the Capstan Station construction schedule being updated, there will no longer be any Canada Line service impacts on Friday nights during the period stated below. Construction work will now take place Monday to Thursday nights from October 11 to November 3.

Canada Line service in Richmond ending early for four weeks due to construction

RICHMOND, B.C. – Service on the Canada Line between Bridgeport Station and Richmond–Brighouse Station will end approximately four hours early for four weeks from October 11 to November 4 (Monday to Friday only), allowing construction crews to continue work on the new Capstan Station.

The temporary service changes are necessary to ensure the safety of workers and the public. Crews will be using cranes to continue installing large pieces of steel to connect the top of the station’s H-frames. The cranes cannot be used safely above the track while trains are in operation.

These temporary impacts will mainly affect customers travelling to and from Bridgeport, Aberdeen, Lansdowne, and Richmond–Brighouse stations.

Extra bus service will be available between Bridgeport and Richmond–Brighouse stations to provide customers with alternative service. Buses will stop at each impacted station (Bridgeport, Aberdeen, Lansdowne, and Richmond–Brighouse) and come approximately every 10 minutes.

We thank our customers for their patience while we continue the construction of Capstan Station. The station will provide better service for customers in the Capstan Village area of Richmond and remains on track to open in 2023.
